Ranjit Bajaj from Roadies Season 1

Roadies Season 1 was an expirement between Raghu and Mtv. They hardly had any core plans to take the show at this levels. Today we have Ranjit Bajaj from Roadies Season 1. We had a telephonic interview with him . Here comes my interview with Ranjit Bajaj from Roadies Season 1.

On asking Ranjit Bajaj about his experience with Roadies journey, he says It was the great experience. He hardly had any idea of what to expect as it was the first reality show of India. He got an opportunity to ride bike and travel from Chennai to Chail with other co-contestants and it was really great experience. He didn’t even have any preparation for interview of Roadies. As it was first reality show ever so he didn’t know what to do. In the interview round they didn’t even have any panel or judges to face. There was just camera in front of the contestant. They were asked questions and they had to perform in front of camera. He didn’t have to face interview panel like we find today. That’s why the contestants you find in Roadies season 1 are natural and without any makeup.

Ranjit feel the tasks during the journey were superb and he loved it. Each and every contestant of their season gave 100% to their tasks. Further he adds that some of the unique tasks we found were only in season 1 like dressing themself as comic characters, eating unlimited icecream, playing truthy n dare and getting waxed etc have never happened in any other season. And it was real life fun for him . He didn’t just feel it like the task but they were really having fun while doing these tasks. Further comparing the tasks of his season to present day task, Ranjit says situation is quite different now. Today Roadies are living in Royal hotels and they do lot of make ups . In their season they were living in normal hotels. They were not supposed to eat in hotels they stayed. Each day they were given Rs 500 and they had to manage entire day’s food in that Rs 500.

Ranjit says that Roadies gave him some life time relations like Rannvijay. He is like his brother now. Rannvijay was also initially the co-owner of Ranjit Bajaj owned Football club (Punjab FC). Further to our surprise he adds that Rannvijay’s father, his uncle and his Grandfather were all trained in Ranjit owned football academy i.e Punjab FC. He is also in constant touch with Mini, another roadie from season 1 who was in Mumbai since last few years but now shifted to Chandigarh.

On asking about voteouts, Ranjit says that he find voteouts as a unique concept and fair enough. He says that in reality shows we find that contestants are voted by public. In such cases there is a chance of partialism and also one doesn’t get fair picture about voting. Whereas in Roadies contestants gives fair votings through voteouts, this is really fair and without partialism.

It has been 17 years since Roadies season 1 came, but Ranjit haven’t yet stopped watching Roadies. He specially watches Roadies auditions where Rannvijay his friend-like brother plays a lead role. Some of the members from Roadies team i.e Anusha Dandekar, Nikhil Chinappa, and Vikrant Bhardwaj are now his friends. So at times when there is an audition in chandigarh, he visits the venue and meet his friends and Rannvijay.

Ranjit feels Roadies was a great learning experience for him. Before Roadies he wasn’t so good at biking. Roadies made him learn to ride bike on tough roads, mountains etc. Infact Roadies was the first time that he rode bike for consistent 10 kms without any break. He covered 4410 kms in Roadies journey, this was really first time for him. It also gave him an opportunity to test himself against best of India. Moreover it gave him an opportunity to live on roads, mountains, camping out with friends etc and this memories will remain forever. Ranjit’s favorite roadie is Rannvijay.

Ranjit never wanted to go for films, acting, tv serials etc. They were never his cup of tea. So after Roadies he joined his armed forces academy. Ranjit owns armed forces academy. It provide training and coaching to those who have cleared SSB. He already owned cricked club. Six years back he took over Minerva Punjab FC which is now named as Punjab Fc. Its one of the leading football clubs of India. Last year they have won every title i.e under 13 , under 18 and premier national championships. Ranjit Bajaj loves adventures. He is also into sky-diving, scooba-diving, mountaineering etc. He has been upto 7700 mts height in mountaineering. Adding to his success and passion of sports, he is Limca book of record holder as well as Asia book of record holder for swimming at highest altitude right under the peak of Mt. Everst. He is also animal lover. He has dog shelter and animal shelter, they take care of about 70 dogs who are either handicapped or too old or too ill. He also owns a wild life NGO who takes care of wild animals.

On asking to describe each roadie of his season in few words, he has to say:

  1. Rannvijay Singha : Don-the Donny-My brother
  2. Iqnoor Bains: Studious
  3. Mini Goel : Best Friend
  4. Kriti Malhotra: Artistic
  5. Love Baroniya: Wrong person in the right place
  6. Tony Kardodia: Wild Man
  7. Divya Shukla: Mysterious
  8. Natasha Rodrigues: Real Roadie
  9. Natasha Gulati: Anything man can do, she can do better.

He advises aspiring youth who wants to be a Roadie that be yourself, if one tries to be somebody who was already on the show, they won’t select you. So he says never copy any previous season Roadie. He further adds hat one needs to be in his original way. Selectors are looking for something unique and original.

Ranjit feels great that Roadies was started as an expirement by Raghu and Rajeev and now its followed in the same spirit by Vikrant of Colesceum-India. He thinks youth of new India has grown up by watching Roadies. Whats common between the previous generation and this generation is one reality show i.e Roadies.

Raj Roy from Roadies Season 4

Do you remember Delhi V/s Chandigarh war in Roadies season 4. If yes then you can definately remember the mastermind behind the game i.e Roadie Raj from Kolkata. Yes today on our panel we have Roadies season 4 fame Raj. In a short email conversation with Raj, we came to know about him. Here we go with conversation with him.

On asking about his experience about the Journey at Roadies, Raj says that it was one of the best experineces of his life. He felt like he lived full life in 40 days. In his own words Journey had everything from Travel to Adventures, from fun to mind games being played, from  friendships to betrayls, from survival to success etc.

You would  be shocked and surprised to know that Raj wasn't much aware about the show. Infact he didn't even knew anything about the interview. It was one of his friend who made him aware about the auditon, show and that final 5 contestants will win the Karizma Bike. "Karizma Bike" factor took his interest and he thought of giving it a try. And finally he got selected and his friend didnt't. He feels he was natural and honest and that made judges impress.

On asking about his experience with Raghu and Rannvijay, he says he shared a great bond with both of them and both are amazing people. He shared a great bond with Rannvijay as both are passionate bikers and both are from Army background. During the entire Roadies Journey they used to discuss a lot about Bikes. He also mentions that Raghu is very sweet and caring person unlike the devil image we see about him on camera.

On asking about tasks, he said they were amazing and very smartly planned out. He will rate them really well because some tasks were more about physical stamina while some were about mental stamina. Some needed team coordination while some needed individual performances. Only strength was not enough but mind was important too.

On asking about making friendship with co-contestants , he says that to be honest he went to Roadies to finish in top 5, get a bike and then finish in top 3 and maybe win the game. Very objectified he was. So he hardly cared much about friendships or enemity. So he always tried from his end to keep a nice and co-ordial relation with everyone and in spite of small differences towards the end, he kept good relations with everyone even after the show.

For him Vote out was a very interesting feature which brought tention and excitement to the game and was very good for TRP as well. He saw it as a way of survival of the fittest, not just by tasks but from mind also. Its was upto how one manages his/her diplomacy

When asking about the show , he says he never saw any season of roadies fully except season 4 where he was present. He saw a bit of Season 1,3 & 5. And a bit of season 7 when he went again for Roadies Season 7rearview. Roadies was a learning experience. It taught him how to survive in life and made him tougher as a person.

Talking about favorite Roadie, he feels in their season "Bani J" is her favorite. In all seasons "Rannvijay" is his favorite. As he is still going on the Roadies and it was he who started it all.
On asking about preparing oneself for Roadies, he says he did not prepare for Roadies. He just went like that and was chilled out and was natural and true to his self and got selected. He feels they prefer real people and can make out if anyone is faking it.

On asking about Delhi-Chandigarh war, he he says that he saw there were more people in Delhi & Chandigarh camps compared to just 3 of them from Kolkata. So he told "Anthony" and "Poonam" that let's 3 of us reach in top 3-4 by using british policy of divide & rule between Delhi & Chandigarh. And it worked.

Roadies season 4 have given many successful Roadies. On asking about this he feels proud that his season had such amazing roadies. Infact it was their season from where Roadies as a show became a popular show with such high TRP ratings.
He advises Roadies aspirants to just go to the auditions and stay natural. Dont fake it. If you have it in you, you will get selected.
As of now Raj is a professional DJ, Music Producer & Model. And he might be having some TV projects coming up so yes stay tuned to know more about him.

Tamanna Sharma from Roadies 6

Hello all, Welcome to RoadiesWaley Den featuring Tamanna Sharma from Roadies 6. Tamanna Sharma was Roadies 6 contestant (2008 Roadies series) who was in great limelight due to her aggressive rebel and performance in each task. She stayed away from limelight and got back to her studies.

She made a comeback after 2 years in Roadies season 8 but that was her short journey. After 12 years some may not even remember who was Tamanna  Sharma and some may be quite happy to read about their favorite Roadie. We got a chance to chit chat with her and have a short written interview. Lets go through what she has to answer and share with her fans.

On asking about Roadies experience, Tamanna has to say that Roadies” experience is hardly expressed in words. But keeping it brief she says that her experience with Roadies” is unforgettable, wonderful, and something which is going to happen only once in life time but will give positive impact forever. Her special mention for this was to Raghu and Rajeev who interviewed her during the season and this was the first season where the Twin duo (Men behind Roadies: Raghu Ram and Rajeev Laskshman) were seen together.

For her being a Roadie, it doesn’t require any preparation. You just need to be yourself. She
says that every new day of life add new things to it, making a lot of things happen and later becoming beautiful chapter in our life. Similarly Roadies Journey was a learning experience for her life. It made her learn lot of things. From her journey she doesn't miss anyone. Those whom she miss are her friends and she is in touch with them. Among all roadies till date, Bani J and she herself are her favorite roadies.
It’s always tough being a part of reality show and giving your 100 percent. Tamanna Sharma feels confident about herself and is sure she was in her original form as per that time, and gave 100 percent during the show.

On asking how she prepared herself for the show, she says, that nothing can prepare you for being in Roadie. Its all your passion that makes your dream come true. Her interview encounter with Raghu and Rajeev” was beautiful.

Welcome to RoadiesWaley den. Today we have Roadies Rising fame Prabhjot Kaur Sidhu.

Prabhjot Kaur Sidhu was contestant of Roadies season 15 i.e Roadies x5 (Roadies Rising). She hails from Boha of Mansa District of Punjab. She has done MA in Journalism and mass communication from Punjabi University, Patiala.

Prabhjot may not been keen viewer of Roadies, like many Roadies aspirants, but her passion for the Show made her select for Roadies. Prabhjot knew nothing about Roadies, unless she saw Prince Narulla in Big Boss. From where she came to know about Roadies. She saw the Roadies season X2, featuring Prince Narulla, from where her Quest for Roadies starts. After watching Roadies X2, she realized that she has that potential to be a part of the show and face the challenge. She started watching past audition rounds and interviews of previous season. Then she worked on her strength, developed herself by gymming and ground work and always stayed positive. Finally she appeared for interview and got selected.

Her family supported her decision to go for roadies. Her family always respects her decision and that is her biggest strength. On asking about how was the audition. Prabhjot feels quite confident about it. She says she had to appear for interview with another girl named: “Veerpal Kaur”. During the audition she had fight with this girl and proved herself confident and assertive.

Rannvijay is the gem for her. He always guided the contestant like Big Brother. The way he praised her during the first gang task, was really appreciable and she still remember that. For her Roadies Journey was awesome. It was the first season from which Camping became the permanent factor in Roadies. She miss all the contestants but specially miss Rakhi Lochab and Priyank Sharma the most as they were her best buddies.

Roadies Journey gave her lot of respect. After the show was over, many people knew now who is “Prabhjot Kaur Sidhu”, she needn’t to give introduction.

She didn’t have much expectations from Roadies, but went just to complete her Hobby, to enjoy, and wanted to prove herself. People voted her out considering her a big threat and that became her biggest threat. Priyank Sharma and Rakhi Lochab are her best contestants at Roadies.

She advises co-contestants that if you wanna go for Roadies, then first prepare yourself mentally, then focus on strength and stamina. She advises not to become too mad for Roadies that you waste important youth time of your life for Roadies.

She is doing the same what she used to do before Roadies. She is an anchor in News Channel since 2015 and still doing the same.
